The Role

We’re seeking an Art Director to lead the creative vision of our motion graphics and interactivity team. This is a leadership role where you’ll set creative standards, drive innovation, and ensure all visual output—from storyboards to interactive video interfaces—meets the highest levels of creative and strategic excellence.

You’ll have direct client-facing responsibilities, reviewing and signing off on key deliverables while guiding the creative development of complex medical communication projects. Your role combines creative leadership with strategic thinking, particularly in shaping our approach to interactive experiences and motion graphics.

What you’ll do

• Lead the visual development process across projects, establishing creative standards and innovative approaches to medical storytelling
• Review, refine, and sign off on client-facing design deliverables, ensuring they exceed expectations
• Mentor and guide designers on both creative and technical aspects, fostering growth and consistency
• Translate complex medical and scientific data into visuals that balance creativity with clarity
• Collaborate with design leads, medical writers, and project managers to optimize workflows in the design-to-animation pipeline
• Ensure all assets are designed with motion and interactivity in mind, integrating seamlessly into After Effects/Figma workflows
• Champion UX methodologies (design thinking, user-centered design) in interactive projects to ensure intuitive user experiences
• Act as a key point of contact for design-related questions, maintaining clear communication across creative and PM teams

What we’re looking for

• 8+ years of professional experience in graphic design, motion graphics, or art direction, with proven leadership experience
• Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects) and Figma, with a strong grasp of animation principles and pipelines
• Demonstrated ability to set creative direction, establish visual standards, and inspire teams to exceed expectations
• Proven ability to apply UX frameworks (design thinking, user-centered design) to interactive and product-driven projects
• Experience creating or directing interactive video or multimedia experiences; familiarity with platforms such as Vimeo Interactive Studio, Articulate Storyline, H5P, Eko, or similar is a plus
• Comfortable with client-facing responsibilities and confident presenting creative decisions
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a track record of elevating design teams
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with international, remote teams
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
• Windows-based workflow experience (not Mac)

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare or pharma-related visual communication.
• Rigging or advanced motion skills.
• Availability in Europe (12 pm – 8:30 pm CET).
